In this classroom-based course, healthcare professionals learn advanced levels of CPR training for individuals who have a job-related "duty to respond" to emergencies. Participants learn how to recognize and provide care in respiratory and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants, with special emphasis on two-rescuer CPR use of the resuscitation mask, bag-valve mask, and Automated External Defibrillator. This course is especially recommended for medical professionals, physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students.
Upon successful completion of this course, each student will receive a two-year certification the same day from the American Heart Association. The Heartsaver® CPR AED course combines basic CPR skills training with instruction and practice in using an AED. The course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including: police, firefighters, security guards, airline personnel, OSHA-related personnel, and lifeguards. All eLearning courses are blended learning, and the courses we evaluate skills in are: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Heartsaver CPR AED, Heartsaver First Aid, and Heartsaver First Aid CPR with AED. Students learn cognitive skills online through Web-based, self-paced modules then practice and test the skills they have learned with an American Heart Association Instructor. Part 1 is take online in the comfort of your own home, and then Parts 2 (hands-on skills practice) and Part 3 (hands-on skills testing) are completed at First-Class CPR's facility. You will have six months to complete your online training from date of purchase and thrity days after the completion of the course to be evaluated in person. Once you have successfully completed your online course, print out your certificate, give us a call at 909-543-8871 to schedule your appointment, bring your certificate and your photo ID with you, perform your skills correctly in front of one of our instructors, and you will be issued your two-year American Heart Association certification.
